Eucharisitic Congress

Wow! Awesome! Amazing! Mystical! I can not adequately describe the True presence of Christ present in the Most Holy Eucharist. I can however encourage you to make time for a Eucharistic Congress. Rick and I went...solo, no children or babies, just the two of us or should I say one of us? Anyways! it was a great day trip to Atlanta. I had heard much about others trips to this amazing event and how life changing it was for them. I (we) needed some of that life changing fire to get us back on track. After having spent a full day with some 30,000 Catholics, including many sisters, priests, bishops and archbishop my mind was spinning and my heart was aching with love for Jesus. It showed me just how universal and international the church is. Lines for confession and some 30 priest hearing confessions in every language you can imagine. I especially enjoyed Father Pacwa. Everything related to food, the importance of food as a physical need and a spiritual need. Choosing the right food, preparing food and preparing yourself to receive the gift of Jesus in the form of food. Father Leo spoke about the priest role in persona Christi. He told a story about a hospital visit; He went to give the sacrament for the dying to a coma patient (NPO). He was unaware at the time that he was not to receive anything by mouth. Even so, the patient opened his eyes, put out his hands, took the Eucharist to his mouth and began chewing. Father had not placed the Eucharist in his hands. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. He was able to die fully prepared. Our dear Father Mooney can tell a few stories like this as well. Christ wants us to reach His kingdom, will we be ready? Always, have a priest number handy, you never know when your going to need one. Don't ever be afraid to call. They want to save souls for the kingdom. Call even for your non catholic friends and family. We can't know what is in the heart.... I digress. The Eucharistic Congress is for families. Next year I am taking the children for the kids track. There is also a teen track with lots of great praise bands. I'll get the post later.
