All Souls Day

Before Mass today we made a little booklet of prayer cards for family members who have died. The girls embellished them with paint. It was a simple and quick little craft project. I wanted them to join their prayer with the soul somehow. So often people are afraid to speak of death to children and I think that is sad. Since living on this farm we have experienced lots of animal deaths, so it has become real. Today gave us the opportunity to show that we can do something good for those souls who have left this world. The lose of a friend or family member is certainly sad and we feel numb at times when we think of that special person.

After Mass today we gathered at Mount Yohna Cemetery to pray a rosary for the faithful departed. WOW! this is beautiful place to be buried. The view is awesome from every angle.
