Rejoice in the Lord

"This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad. " We often find it hard to rejoice in the Lord when our days don't go according to our plan. Take last night for instance. I had it all planned out. The baby would go to sleep as he has the last three nights 8ish, the girls would quietly read in their beds, Rick had KOC and I would finish night gown in my sewing room. Everyone would sleep all night and I could get loads of things done. Sewwwwwww, whence I finally got Patrick to sleep it was almost nine. Whence I finally positioned myself in my sewing chair, within minutes one of the needles on my serger broke :( If you know anything about serging, you know you don't serge if there are children near by. If you get distracted for a second you can ruin whatever you are making. Ok, you can serge with only 3 needles, however, I already was serging with 3 needles because one had broken months back. Now I had 2 broken needles and something had to be done.....REJOICE? I was rather frustrated at this point. So I pulled out the necessary tools to change the needles. It took me fifteen minutes to change those 2 needles, then I had to rethread. For those of you who don't know threading a serger can be a chore. That part went better than expected as the two needles that had to be rethreaded were the last 2 in the process. Now I am ready to go, right? Wrong, in pop my two little helpers. "Can we sew? Can I help you? I want to design something." REJOICE! This was suppose to be my time. Off went all the machines, the iron and the lights. It is time to snuggle with the doodles. This is also the night the Lord has made and I do love to snuggle. If God gives me tomorrow perhaps I can sew then.
