and Peace to His people on earth! We are experiencing a blessed Advent. Tonight after play rehearsal we spent some time at the rectory with Father Sullivan. He prepared a lovely meal for us. We are blessed with a priest with culinary talents an exquisite pallet. While we were there, Chloe and I had our blue "Immaculate Conception" scapulars blessed. We are ready to cloth ourselves in Her shield. I have wanted for some time now to use this sacramental in my daily life but have not committed myself fully. So tonight, we turned our hearts and minds to Mary and took the second step toward consecration to Her Immaculate Heart. Speaking for myself now, I have been reading "True Devotion to Mary" and have had a strong desire to unite myself with her more....but I fail so often. She was stainless from conception, led a sinless life and "is" the Mother of God. Wow! how can we not honor her? She is our vessel to holiness. Our model motherhood. I've so much to learn.
Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception!
This is one of my favorite Pictures of The Blessed Mother. I love the glow from her womb and the curvature of her back, she looks holy but still human.
Every girl, young or old should imagine themselves as Mary. This was My Mary dressed for all Saints Day a few years back. Our own Little Mary.
Chloe was Mary on the "Keep Christ in Christmas" float in the Saint Augustine Christmas Parade two years ago. I hope the desire to be like Mary never leaves their hearts.
Erika,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I think that is wonderful! You are leagues ahead of me. I, too, have desired to unite myself with the Blessed Mother but have not out of a fear of failure to live up to my obligation. I am sure it is just the evil one trying to derail my desire. I will keep you in my prayers for this endeavor.
