O' Those O' Antiphons

This year we added the "O" Antiphons to our Advent and Christmas journey. I could not remember much about this form of prayer, so I printed out some history and we read it together. Chloe read the scripture from Isaiah that corresponded to the antiphons. The reading prompted some spontaneous discussion....mom always likes when that happens. One of the fascinating tidbits was that the first letter of each invocation, when read backwards, forms an acrostic in Latin: (one of our hs studies) EROCRAS. These can be understood as the words of Christ, responding to His people's plea, saying "Tomorrow I will be there." Will we be ready? We are making a good effort, I am sure we can do better. Check it out for yourself.

Our home is decorated for the Christmas season and all the candles on the Advent wreath have been lit. Our hearts are joyously awaiting His arrival in the manger. Praying for a PEACE FILLED Christmas season for all the world.

O Come O Come Emmanuel!

Earlier in the evening we were invited to celebrate our parish priests 27th ordination anniversary. Praise God!
